Spring 2009 Events

April 4, 5 - 11 pm: Heroes Black and White Ball

• We celebrated and honored Marines by helping the Rotary Club at Camp Pendleton put on this huge ball
  

April 4 - 5: Model UN

• We helped high school students learn about other countries and peace by preparing meals for them and handling their luggage

April 11, 10 am - 12 pm: Casa de Amparo

• We brought a day of smiles to abused children by baking cookies with them, teaching them to make origami and hemp friendship bracelets, and painting their nails

April 18, 8:30 - 11:30 am: Fighting Parkinson's Walk and Fun Run

• We cheered the walkers and runners to keep them going as they raised money for research on this disease

April 25, 9 am - 12 pm, 12 pm - 3 pm: Rotarians at Work Day

• We joined the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club in a fun day remodeling a local police station

May 2, 10:30 am - 3 pm: Therapeutic Horseback Riding

• We helped improve the horse stalls and some of the other ranch equipment, and then all got to ride on the horses
• Also go to watch two lessons for disabled children
  
• We worked with Upward Bound and USD students

May 2, 6 - 7 pm: Take Steps Walk

• We participated in this walk downtown to raise money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America
• Donated money from Jamba Juice fundraiser and Karma Koins

May 9, 9 am - 1 pm: Challenge Course

• We all conquered the group challenges and the 55 foot tall Alpine Tower
  
• Some people even did it blindfolded!

May 13, 6 - 8 pm: Ronald McDonald House

• We brought a huge dinner, along with decorated place-mats, to the families staying here, who have children staying in the hospital

May 16, 8:15 am - 3 pm: El Faro Orphanage

• Take a trip down to this orphanage in Mexico to bring some joy to the children

May 16, 12:30 to 3 pm: San Diego Food Bank

• Built boxes of food for hungry families with the triangle fraternity
  
• Enjoyed lunch at an Indian restaurant after

May 23, 9 - 11 m: Beach clean-up with San Diego Coast Cleaners

• Clean up a beach and bring back its natural beauty

May 30, 6 pm: Korean barbecue social

• We celebrated of a year of hard work by enjoying Korean barbecue and a yummy cake
